Ada Twist Scientist

Ada asks questions about everything, and her investigations can make everyday family life wonderfully chaotic. Rather than abandoning her curiosity, the people around her begin to see the value of her determination to find out why. Andrea Beaty's rhyming story and David Roberts's playful pictures celebrate a young scientist's persistence, giving children an encouraging adventure about testing ideas, asking better questions and keeping an enquiring mind.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). Rhythm and repeated language help younger listeners join in, while primary readers can explore the words and pictures more closely. Reading aloud supports listening, sound awareness and expressive speech; following the story encourages recall and talking about what happens next.
