Dog Man And Cat Kid

A movie set becomes the scene of another Dog Man adventure, where the difference between acting like a hero and actually being one soon matters. Cat Kid joins the action as plans, villains and dramatic interruptions create a wonderfully unruly production. Dav Pilkey's fourth graphic novel blends visual comedy with friendship and teamwork, giving readers a playful story in which the real heroes may be the least polished performers.

Age suitability and learning: Primary (6-8), Older children (9-12). Comic panels make the action approachable for primary readers and reward older children who enjoy visual humour. Reading words alongside pictures supports sequencing, inference and understanding of dialogue; the characters' choices invite discussion about friendship, kindness and working together.
