Dog Man Brawl Of The Wild

Dog Man is sent to jail, and his friends must work out how to help the hero who usually comes to everyone else's rescue. The prison setting gives Dav Pilkey plenty of room for comic misunderstandings, while the story asks what it means to belong. This sixth adventure combines frantic visual humour with friendship and loyalty, making its larger feelings accessible through familiar characters and playful action.

Age suitability and learning: Primary (6-8), Older children (9-12). Comic panels make the action approachable for primary readers and reward older children who enjoy visual humour. Reading words alongside pictures supports sequencing, inference and understanding of dialogue; the characters' choices invite discussion about friendship, kindness and working together.
