Giraffes Can't Dance

Gerald the giraffe longs to dance, but the other animals' laughter leaves him feeling clumsy and left out. A kind encounter helps him discover that finding the right music can change everything. Giles Andreae's bouncy rhyme and Guy Parker-Rees's lively pictures turn a jungle party into a reassuring story about confidence, encouragement and the pleasure of moving in your own way.

Age suitability and learning: Baby & toddler (0-2), Preschool (3-5). Rhythm and repeated language help younger listeners join in, while primary readers can explore the words and pictures more closely. Reading aloud supports listening, sound awareness and expressive speech; following the story encourages recall and talking about what happens next.
