Gracie Grabbit And The Tiger Board Book

Gracie's dad is a robber, and she is tired of the trouble his stealing causes. A visit to the zoo and an encounter with a tiger bring an unexpected opportunity for things to change. Helen Stephens's lively story combines comic suspense with a child who knows that something is wrong, giving readers a playful way to talk about honesty, fairness and standing up for a better choice.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). The illustrated story suits shared reading with younger children and more independent exploration as reading grows. Following events encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary; discussing the characters gives children practice recognising feelings and considering other perspectives.
