Grandma Bird - Benji Davies PB

Noi visits his grandmother, but their different routines make it difficult for him to feel at home. An unexpected adventure with a small bird helps him see her in a new light. Benji Davies pairs expressive pictures with a gentle exploration of independence and connection, showing how shared experiences can bring generations closer and how care sometimes appears in ways a child has not yet recognised.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). The illustrated story suits shared reading with younger children and more independent exploration as reading grows. Following events encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary; discussing the characters gives children practice recognising feelings and considering other perspectives.
