Happy To Help Tom Gates

Tom Gates gets involved in helping others, but enthusiasm and good intentions do not guarantee that everything will go smoothly. His illustrated diary turns school and family situations into another supply of jokes, doodles and unexpected complications. A cheerful story for children who like recognisable everyday adventures, inviting them to think about cooperation and how a helpful plan may need adjusting once real people become involved.

Age suitability and learning: Primary (6-8), Older children (9-12). The illustrations and conversational voice offer developing readers a welcoming route into a longer book, while older children can enjoy the humour and character details. Following the diary supports reading stamina, inference and understanding of perspective, with familiar situations prompting conversation about friendships and choices.
