Journey Aaron Becker

A lonely girl draws a door with a red crayon and steps into an extraordinary world of waterways, castles and danger. With no printed narration, Aaron Becker lets the pictures carry the adventure and gives readers room to discover its meaning for themselves. The story celebrates courage, imagination and connection, turning the act of looking into an active journey of predicting, interpreting and telling.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). The picture-led storytelling lets children participate without needing to read written sentences. Following visual clues supports sequencing, inference and close observation; describing what is happening encourages vocabulary, imaginative narration and comparing different interpretations of the same scene.
