Julius Caesar

Rome's powerful ruler has enemies who fear what his growing authority might mean. As friendship becomes tangled with ambition and political conspiracy, a terrible act sets the city on a path towards conflict. This children's retelling brings Shakespeare's Julius Caesar within reach, introducing the tension between personal loyalty, public duty and the persuasive words that can change people's minds.

Age suitability and learning: Primary (6-8), Older children (9-12). The adapted prose offers primary and older children a manageable introduction to Shakespeare, with adult discussion useful for the darker events and historical attitudes.
