Mog The Forgetful Cat

Mog forgets things so often that her family can find her exasperating, even though she is a much-loved part of their home. When an unexpected visitor arrives at night, her ordinary cat behaviour has a surprising result. Judith Kerr's affectionate story gives readers a wonderfully recognisable pet, mixing gentle comedy with warmth and a reassuring sense that being imperfect does not stop someone from having an important place in a family.

Age suitability and learning: Baby & toddler (0-2), Preschool (3-5). The illustrated story suits shared reading with younger children and more independent exploration as reading grows. Following events encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary; discussing the characters gives children practice recognising feelings and considering other perspectives.
