Monkey Puzzle Julia Donaldson Board

A little monkey is lost and wants to find his mum, but the helpful butterfly keeps making unexpected suggestions. The search brings them past a parade of animals before an important difference between their families becomes clear. This board-book edition combines Julia Donaldson's memorable rhyme with an inviting guessing game about appearance, careful description and the relief of finding someone familiar.

Age suitability and learning: Baby & toddler (0-2), Preschool (3-5). Rhythm and repeated language help younger listeners join in, while primary readers can explore the words and pictures more closely. Reading aloud supports listening, sound awareness and expressive speech; following the story encourages recall and talking about what happens next.
