Mr Men & Little Miss New Pet

A new pet brings excitement and questions to the colourful world of the Mr Men and Little Miss characters. Their different personalities turn a familiar childhood wish into a playful story about living with an animal. Straightforward language and recognisable situations make it inviting to share, giving children a starting point for talking about choosing a pet, caring for it and understanding that affection also brings responsibility.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). The illustrated story suits shared reading with younger children and more independent exploration as reading grows. Following events encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary; discussing the characters gives children practice recognising feelings and considering other perspectives.
