Shh! We Have A Plan Board

Four friends creep through the woods with an ambitious plan to catch a bird, but their quiet preparations do not produce the result they expect. A smaller companion has a different way of approaching the creatures around them. Chris Haughton's striking pictures and repeated language give the story a wonderful comic rhythm, inviting children to anticipate each attempt and notice that gentleness may work better than a determined chase.

Age suitability and learning: Baby & toddler (0-2), Preschool (3-5). The illustrated story suits shared reading with younger children and more independent exploration as reading grows. Following events encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary; discussing the characters gives children practice recognising feelings and considering other perspectives.
