Superworm Book - Julia Donaldson

Superworm uses his wonderfully flexible body to help the creatures around him, becoming a hero through generous everyday acts. When a wicked wizard captures him, his friends must bring their own talents together to rescue him. Julia Donaldson's energetic rhyme makes the adventure fun to join in with, while showing that friendship and teamwork can be stronger than one hero working alone.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). Rhythm and repeated language help younger listeners join in, while primary readers can explore the words and pictures more closely. Reading aloud supports listening, sound awareness and expressive speech; following the story encourages recall and talking about what happens next.
