Ten Little Dogs : Ruth Brown

Ten little dogs give young children a playful way to follow numbers through an illustrated animal adventure. Ruth Brown's lively pictures invite readers to count, compare and notice what changes from one scene to the next. The familiar appeal of dogs makes the mathematical pattern feel like part of a story, with expressive details and opportunities to join in during shared reading.

Age suitability and learning: Baby & toddler (0-2), Preschool (3-5). Rhythm and repeated language help younger listeners join in, while primary readers can explore the words and pictures more closely. Reading aloud supports listening, sound awareness and expressive speech; following the story encourages recall and talking about what happens next.
