The Day The Crayons Quit - Oliver Jeffers

Duncan's crayons write letters complaining about how they are used. Their different viewpoints invite children to consider fairness and imaginative ways to make pictures.

Age suitability and learning: Preschool (3-5), Primary (6-8). Preschoolers can enjoy an adult reading aloud, while primary-age children can explore the story and its ideas in more detail. The illustrated narrative encourages prediction, sequencing and vocabulary. Talking about the characters supports comprehension and considering different points of view.
